CENTENARY OF THE CONSECRATION OF MONACO CATHEDRAL


Monaco's byzantine cathedral, known under the name of the Immaculate Conception, was built in 1875 and consecrated in 1911. It houses the tombs of the former Princes of Monaco and their spouses and a remarkable collection of works of art including an altarpiece by Louis Bréa (Italian painter) dating back to 1500.

    Founded in 1917, the Lions Club International is the largest NGO in the world with over 1,350,000 members and 42,000 clubs. H.S.H. Prince Albert II is the Honorary President of the Lions Club de Monaco which, since its creation, has worked to help those in difficulty and more particularly the handicapped.
