To commemorate the 900th anniversary of the Papal bull, MaltaPost will, on the 15th February 2013, issue a stamp that will be set within a miniature sheet. The stamp portrays a detail of a painting by the French artist and Knight of Malta, Antoine Favray.
The painting, which is exhibited at the National Museum of Fine Arts, Valletta, depicts Blessed Gerard receiving a deed of donation from Godfrey de Bouillon, first ruler of the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
25,000 miniature sheets will be produced bearing a face value of €2.47. The miniature sheet was designed by Edward D. Pirotta.
The size of the stamp is 44.0mm x 31.0mm with a perforation of 13.9 x 14.0 (comb), while the miniature sheet measures 120mm x 80mm.
All stamps have been offset printed on Maltese Crosses watermarked paper by Printex Limited and are available in miniature sheets.
The miniature sheet will be available as from Friday 15 February from all Post Offices in Malta and Gozo.
